I feel like it’s been a very long time since I’ve touched a ZYTOKINE song, and maybe it’s been a long time or maybe it hasn’t been, but I certainly spent a bit too much time coming around for this one.

Other than “Max A/C” (…don’t ask me why) this song reminds me of the last episodes of the “originally aired” Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Forgive the mental (un)health-like state of the pronouns, but I think it’s supposed to be that way. At least it’s pretty clear there’s supposed to be a bit of a jarring effect with the last stanza.

Notes:
“unforgiving moon” <- the moon (appears as if it) sees through the folly of the narrator's dreams, and won't humor her. That's what “unforgiving” is supposed to mean here – apologies for the oversimplification.
