I love Buta-Otome; they’re awesome – I love Greenwich Observatory, it’s my #1 Touhou original (not by far though). I can’t help thinking that Renko and Mary are even 20x cooler than they seem to be.

The coolest part of this song might have to be when an “interruption in time” laughs at the singer. *Visualizes*

I’m going to take my album art/booklet library with me to Japan to assist me, but don’t blame me if my productivity drops – a lot. I’ll try to finish most of my backlog before I leave.

幻想のサテライト Gensou no Satellite / Fantasy Satellite is from Buta-Otome’s most recent album, “幻想ホモ･ルーデンス” Gensou Homo Ludens.

Homo Ludens or “Man the Player” (alternatively, “Playing Man”) is a book written in 1938 by Dutch historian, cultural theorist and professor Johan Huizinga. It discusses the importance of the play element of culture and society. Huizinga uses the term “Play Theory” within the book to define the conceptual space in which play occurs. Huizinga suggests that play is primary to, and is a necessary (though not sufficient) condition of the generation of culture.
Foreword controversy: Huizinga makes it clear in the foreword of his book that he means the play element of culture, and not the play element in culture. He writes that he titled the initial lecture the book is based on “The Play Element of Culture”.

The normal English terms, are “here and there”, “near and far” – but I felt like writing it how it’s in the Japanese “there and here”, “far and near” – there’s no other reason.
