ythm

Sponsored by: burbels

I hear that the game this is from (Omega no Shikai) is supposed to be one of those “mind screw” games: “The story contains aspects that are wild, incomprehensible, surrealistic, or otherwise difficult to wrap your mind around. The end result is a story that leaves you feeling baffled and overwhelmed and calls into question the way you view the world.”

This is also one of those songs that is built on small phrases, and without knowing the source material, I’m not going to jump to any conclusions, but just string them together as is ^^

「ythm」

umareteyuku
nakigara ni se wo mukete
kawaita yoru ga samenai
mujun’ no yume
abiru hikari
kage hikisaite
tomedonai kizuguchi
itami kakaetemo
yoru wa mata hajimaru

I turn my back
On corpses being born
The dry night will not wake
A paradox of a dream
Showering light
Ripping through shadows
A wound with no endpoint
Even if I can handle the pain
The night starts again

yami ni chirasarete
yurari honoo wa kieru
nobeta yubisaki wa tooku
shiro to kuro no kage
tagai ni kiba wo muite
tsui no maboroshi wa hikari
kono me nurashita
sora no namida akaku
tsuki wo someta

Scattered by the darkness
A flame vanishes in a flicker
Fingertips reach but are too far away
White and black shadows
Bare fangs at each other
The phantom of the end is light
Shed from my eyes
Tears of the sky
Stain the moon red

kumoma wo hiraki
terasu wa shin’en’ no tsuki
nemuranu kari wa
owari no nai tasogare
samayou kokoro ugatsu chi no
hitoshizuku
hamon wa nikushimi no katachi
fukaku tsunagareru

Parting the clouds
A full moon shines through
The hunt never sleeps
An unending twilight
A single drop of blood
Pierces the lost heart
Its ripple a symbol of hatred
Deeply connected

kodoku mi ni matoi
yodon’da sora ni shizun’de
hibiku koe wa tada tooku
kaze no fukitamari
ibitsu ni kareru mori ni
yui wo utsushidasu izumi
konomi tsuranuku
imashime no ito kataku
musubu kusari

I shroud myself in loneliness
Sinking into the stagnant sky
Resounding voices, far
Where the wind is still
In a forest twisted by draught
A spring projecting singularity
Pierces through my body
Chains sewn of taut threads
Of admonishment

tadotte kaeru
kizan’da sakasama no toki
kamiato nijimu karada wo
hitori daita
ushinawareru subete no iro
kienokoru kiseki dake
oimotometemo
kono te surinukete

Arriving and turning back
A time inverted
Alone I clung to my body
Covered in bite marks
The colors of everything lost
Only the traces of things gone
Even if race after them
They’ll only slip through my fingers

hikari nai tsuki ga abaita
shin’en’ no kage
utsurou nemuri
shizuka ni kurikaesu yume
kioku no kakera
koborechiru
nokosareta kizuguchi
itami kakaeta mama
yoru wa mata hajimaru

A lightless moon exposes
An abyssal shadow
Shifting sleep
A silently repeating dream
Fragments of memories
Spill away
Carrying the pain from
The wound left behind
The night starts again

Delicious. A tricky material to work with, yes? Maybe you’ll play this game, eventually, and see how close you were to whatever they meant ^^ It also contains insert songs from people we know from touhou covers (3L? I’m not sure but she sounds familiar), and two more, I think, by Aki Misawa.

I know that Chata also sings one song in this game called 夜光燈 (Luminous Light?).

Noriko Mitose sung the insert songs, btw. For the EDs, Yakoutou (夜光燈) was sung by Chata, and AgitO was Aki Misawa again.
