Sanctuary of Innocence

As with all 50/50 English/Japanese songs I treat the English units as boxed phrases.

Rock on.

Faith in calamity
Fall away future

kowareta faith in calamity
fall away future egakidashita

My faith in calamity broken
I painted a future falling away

Pass me my love
Wrong end come up 全部くだらなくて

pass me my love karisome no
wrong end come up zen’bu kudaranakute
soredemo somebody riyuu sagasu

Pass me my love, insubstantial
Wrong ends come up, and it’s all worthless
But I’m still looking for a reason in somebody

Candle of the soul

kienai candle of the soul
arashi ni sae takawarau

The candle of my soul will not be extinguished
I laugh at the storms for trying

Feel no fear
Don’t take reserve
Shaking in my heart

feel no fear tsuyogari no
don’t take reserve datte uragawa niwa
kowaresou na shaking in my heart

On the surface I feel no fear
I don’t take any reserve, because behind it all
I’m shaking in my heart, all but breaking

Tenderness, your true word

tenderness, your true word
yukue shirezu nara ima wa sore demo ii

Tenderness, your true word
Even if I don’t know where it is now, I can still make it

Nowhere to be found 子羊の首 Knockin’ on heaven’s door 響く
Passover night

nowhere to be found kohitsuji no kubi knockin’ on heaven’s door hibiku
juurin’ no shisha kemonotachi zawameku passover night

The head of the lamb nowhere to be found, now knockin’ on heaven’s door hear
The angel of destruction, and the beasts riling this passover night

Cry out to the Lord 鉛の弾で Go to the wall 磔けて
Hold you tight
赤い Sea of their blood 塗れた
World

cry out to the lord, namari no tama de go to the wall haritsukete
aganai wo sasagereba kono mama hold you tight
roar thunder kuzureochiru santuary wa yoru ga akeru koro
akai sea of their blood mamireta
jun’shin’ na world

Cry out to the lord, lead bullets to the wall, crucifying
If you give repentence then I’ll hold you tight
Under the roar of thunder this crumbling sanctuary by night’s break
Is bathed in a red sea of their blood
A pure world!

Leave on overlay

agaite leave on overlay
douyou mada piling kyozetsu sareta

Scrambling, left on overlay
Shaken, still piling, rejected

Stay in evil days
So out of control
Forbearance

stay in evil days wo kasanete
so out of control ketobase yo
forbearance wa mou iranai

With us stayed in evil days
So out of control, kick it all away!
We have no more need for forbearance!

Despairing, for sunrise
Sign to walk

despairing, for sunrise
doko e mukaeba ii? detarame na sign to walk

Despairing, for sunrise
Where should we turn? A nonsense sign to walk

Break up for good ねぇ 教えてくれよ Knockin’ on heaven’s door 意味が
Passover night

break up for good nee oshietekure yo knockin’ on heaven’s door imi ga
nai no nara naze inorikashizuku passover night

Breaking up for good – Come on, tell me! – Knocking on heaven’s door, if there’s
No meaning in it, why do we pray and serve!? – Passover night

Hand of angry God 優しく撫でる To bring about 残酷な
Hold you tight
赤い Sea of their blood 塗れた
World

hand of angry god yasashiku naderu to bring about zan’koku na
shuukyoku made kazoeteru sore nara hold you tight
egoistic futaridake ga nozomu garden wa doushiyou mo naku
akai sea of their blood mamireta
jin’shin’ na world

The hand of an angry God gently caresses, counting to bring about
A cruel end, but until that time I’ll hold you tight
Egotistic, the garden that we desired, cannot be but
Bathed in a sea of their blood
A pure world!

Leave on overlay

Do you think you could clarify this part for me? Not sure really sure what it means.

    • I translated that stanza literally because it was confusing in the sense that I didn’t -exactly- know what the English was referring to (especially that “leave on overlay”), but I kind of got some of that “Spider’s Thread” imagery, of sinners scrambling/piling over each other trying to find some salvation but ultimately being rejected (if it -is- a reference to the Spider’s Thread, it would be from “every man for himself” attitude as opposed to trying to help each other).

Yeah it is confusing >.< Thanks for the help though :]
