胎児の夢 // Taiji no Yume

This uses Hatate’s and Koishi’s Themes in a mix for something brilliantly strange, and .. well – it’s fitting for both characters.. (You can argue Hatate doesn’t have hold on any particular theme in double spoiler, but if she were to have any theme, it would be Infinite Nightmare, right?)

By the way, that second to last stanza; that second to last stanza. That’s all I’m going to say.

Oh, and I just very recently realized that Merami (from Foreground Eclipse) and Merami Pop めらみぽっぷ are one and the same; subconsciously I just thought it was a ridiculous name coincidence…

Notes:

進化の軌跡: is “locus of progression” ie. the path of progression, however it has the same pronunciation as 進化の奇跡 “miracle of evolution/progress”. So I went ahead and put both meanings in.

Could “To the nine pieces of gold at death’s side?” possibly refer to money people were buried with to pay the boatman of the Sanzu? Just an idea.

    • Yeah, that’s what I originally thought, but most of my sources say the fare is traditionally 6 sen, or 6 small copper coins; maybe it’s something random – but maybe it’s something I missed.

I was intrigued by the “胎児よ胎児よ何故躍る” stanza and tried searching it on Google, and it appears to be a poem from the novel Dogra Magra by Yumeno Kyuusaku. The way they incorporated it into the lyrics was pretty neat.

(thank you for the translation, also!)

    • Awesome, I’ll be sure to look it up! (╹◡╹)

Yeah RD is exceptional; he would do something cool like that.
